Pigmented Lesion Removal

Pigmented lesions are natural skin discolorations that are a result of an excessive concentration of melanin production. These common brown spots are usually benign and appear at birth, assemble with age, or form due to overexposure to the sun.

Although pigmented lesions are extremely common and experienced by virtually everyone, many people choose to remove them due to their unsightly appearance. Pigmented lesion removal helps rewind time by revealing younger looking skin and a clearer complexion. Spectrum Laser Aesthetics provides safe and effective removal of unwanted pigmented lesions using our advanced Astanza Trinity laser.

Once removed, most pigmented lesions will not return. However, excessive sun exposure and lack of sunscreen application may invite new lesions to form.

Pigmented lesions that change in size, border shape, color, and other factors may be cancerous. Spectrum Laser Aesthetics recommends all patients to consult with a Dermatologist before starting treatment.

How Does Pigmented Lesion Removal Work?

During treatment, our Astanza Trinity laser will emit ultra-quick pulses of light energy at the unwanted pigmented lesion. The concentrated spot of melanin will absorb the light energy and shatter while leaving the surrounding skin intact. Your immune system then activates the natural healing process by removing the shattered pigment.

Where Can I Get Treatment?

Pigmented lesion removal treatment can be performed on all parts of the body, including the face. The most common treatment areas are the cheeks, hands, neck, back, and chest.

How Long Does Treatment Take?

Depending on the number of lesions being treated, laser sessions can take as little as a few seconds to a few minutes. Most patients see significant fading after just one treatment and usually only need 1 to 3 treatment for complete removal.

Aftercare and Recovery Steps

Scabs may form after treatment. Do not pick the scab during the healing process, doing so can increase chances of infection and scarring. Allow the scab to heal naturally at its own pace. Once the scab flakes off, you will see clear skin. Apply sunscreen and limit sun exposure to prevent additional pigmented lesions from forming.

Vascular Lesion Removal

Vascular lesions, also known as spider veins, port wine stains, or telangiectasia, are small dilated blood vessels that form directly under the surface of the skin. Vascular lesions can appear as a single thread or a small cluster-like spider web, hence the nickname spider veins. Most vascular lesions are hereditary while others are a result of aging, hormones, and sun exposure. Sitting or standing for long periods of time can exacerbate them. Because vascular lesions are not necessary for circulation, many individuals have them removed to improve their skin’s appearance.

Laser treatment works best on spider veins less than 3 millimeters in diameter. Spectrum Laser Aesthetics delivers safe and effective removal of unwanted vascular lesions using our advanced ReSmooth laser.

How Does Vascular Lesion Removal Work?

During treatment, our Astanza ReSmooth laser will direct pulses of light energy onto the unwanted vascular lesion. The laser light is absorbed by the hemoglobin in the blood, causing the blood to vaporize and collapse the vessel without damaging any of the surrounding skin tissue. As the unwanted vascular lesion breaks down, it becomes less visible and eventually disappears.

Where Can I Get Treatment?

Vascular lesions removal at Spectrum Laser Aesthetics can be performed on all parts of the body. Most patients seek treatment on lesions found on the nose, cheeks, and legs.

How Long Does Treatment Take?

Vascular lesion removal is a very quick procedure that lasts under 15 minutes depending on the size and number of lesions being treated. Most patients experience optimal results after 2 to 3 treatments.

Aftercare and Recovery Steps

Patients may experience bruising, slight discoloration, and redness of the treatment site following treatment. These side effects will gradually fade over the next two to three weeks following treatment. We recommend staying active and exercising daily to prevent additional vascular lesions from forming.

PhotoFacial

Photofacial is an effective, noninvasive procedure that is taking the aesthetic industry by storm. This versatile procedure treats numerous unwanted skin blemishes including rosacea, facial redness, wrinkles, fine lines, sun damage, sun spots, uneven skin tone, acne scars, large pores, and more. Whether you’re young or mature, photofacial treatment can help fight signs of aging and rejuvenate your skin’s complexion.

Contrary to invasive and abrasive procedures, PhotoFacials require little to no downtime and can be performed on all parts of the body, including the face. Our ReSmooth laser features an integrated cooling tip for added comfort and no use for anesthesia.

How Does PhotoFacial Work?

During treatment, our ReSmooth laser evenly distributes wavelengths of light energy over the desired body area. The light energy penetrates deep into the skin and stimulates the body’s natural healing process and, most importantly, promotes collagen growth. This process gives your skin an even-toned appearance and more youthful complexion.

Where Can I Get Treatment?

Despite the procedure name, PhotoFacials can be performed on other parts of the body besides the face. In fact, many patients seek PhotoFacial treatment on their neck, chest, and hands. Areas with the most sun exposure are prone to form more unwanted skin blemishes and are great candidates for PhotoFacial treatment.

How Long Does Treatment Take?

PhotoFacial treatment at Spectrum Laser Aesthetics is fairly quick lasting anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes depending on how many areas or treated and the size of each area being treated. Small areas on the hand may take a few minutes whereas a full face and neck treatment may take longer. Patients will see results after just one treatment, however, multiple treatments are recommended for optimum results.

Aftercare and Recovery Steps

Patients may experience slight swelling and redness immediately following treatment. Sun spots may appear darker and more prominent, but will fade over the weeks following treatment. Apply a gentle moisturizer following treatment and be consistent with sunscreen application.
