Laser Tattoo Removal Technology

General Information

Tattoos have been around for centuries and are one of the most popular forms of self-expression. And while most tattooed individuals love their ink, a large percentage experience tattoo regret or eventually have a change of mind when it comes to their permanent body art. Laser tattoo removal is the safest, most effective method for removing unwanted ink and lightening existing tattoos for cover-ups.

Spectrum Laser Aesthetics uses the latest, most advanced laser technology to help patients achieve their desired look and regain control of their skin and ink.

Tattoo Permanency

During the tattoo application process, a needle penetrates through the top layer of skin (the epidermis) and deposits thousands of ink particles into the deepest layer of skin (the dermis). Your immune system’s natural reaction to such foreign materials is to send bacteria eating cells to absorb and eradicate them, however, the large size and deep placement of the ink particles prevent your body from removing them completely. Still, the tiny bacteria eating cells scrape away at the large ink particles and carry them to your lymphatic system where they are processed and eliminated. This cycle is continuously repeated which explains why tattoos gradually fade over time. But since many of the ink particles are much larger than the bacteria eating cells, the tattoo stays permanently sketched in your skin.

How Laser Tattoo Removal Works

Laser tattoo removal speeds up the natural fading process by breaking up the large ink particles into smaller fragments that your immune system can remove. During a treatment, our Astanza Trinity laser directs ultra-quick pulses of light energy onto the unwanted ink and selectively targets the ink particles without harming any surrounding skin tissue. Specific wavelengths of light energy are used to target the varying colors in your tattoo. The ink particles absorb the light energy and shatter into tiny fragments upon impact. The weeks following each treatment, your immune system will naturally remove the shattered fragments, causing your tattoo to fade. Because tattoos are comprised of varying layers of ink, most tattoos will need multiple treatments to effectively shatter each layer. Each session with our laser will target the shallowest layer of ink particles and work its way down. Treatments are spaced a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks apart to give your tattoo enough time to heal and fade before the next session. After a series of treatments, you will witness your tattoo significantly fade until all traces of your tattoo are gone. Spectrum Laser Aesthetics in Tyler, TX offers complete tattoo removal, selective tattoo removal, and fading for cover-up tattoos. The Astanza Trinity

Spectrum Laser Aesthetics believes great results start with superior technology. We put extensive research into our lasers to ensure our patients are treated with the highest level of care. Trusted by the leading laser tattoo removal providers and exclusively used at our Tyler clinic, the Astanza Trinity laser delivers unmatched results and is second to none.

Full Spectrum Ink Removal
In order for laser tattoo removal to be successful, the trapped ink particles in your skin must absorb a laser’s light energy. When an ink particle absorbs light energy, it heats up and shatters into tiny fragments that your body is able to naturally remove. If an ink particle reflects light energy, then it remains intact and permanently trapped in your skin. What makes our Trinity laser so special is that it can effectively eliminate ALL tattoo ink colors. Most tattoo removal lasers support the traditional 1064 nm and 532 nm wavelengths and can treat a wide variety of ink pigments. Yet, they are unable to remove resistant blue and green pigments like teal, turquoise, and lime green. In order to tackle these resistant colors, a special ruby 694 nm wavelength is required. Our Trinity supports both 1064 nm and 532 nm wavelengths in addition to a special ruby 694 nm wavelength that specifically targets and shatters stubborn green and blue inks. Together, these three wavelengths of light energy deliver full-spectrum tattoo removal on the most colorful, pigmented tattoos.

The Zimmer Cryo

To better serve our patients, Spectrum Laser Aesthetics has invested in the Zimmer Cryo cooling machine, the leading skin numbing solution for laser aesthetic treatments. Many patients interested in laser tattoo removal, laser hair removal, and other laser procedures are often hesitant about starting treatment due to the pain associated with the laser. While the majority of patients compare the laser sensation to a rubber band snapping against the skin, others with a lower pain tolerance request skin numbing methods to alleviate their discomfort during treatment. Luckily, laser treatments at Spectrum Laser Aesthetics are quick and easy depending on the size and number of areas being treated in a single session. No matter your pain tolerance, Spectrum Laser Aesthetics wants every patient to feel relaxed and confident heading into each treatment. Which is why we’ve skipped the ice packs and numbing creams and added the Zimmer Cryo to our practice. The Zimmer Cryo cooling machine delivers superior skin numbing in a matter of minutes and helps alleviate the skin and blow away any worries of pain.

Fast Relief and Minimized Pain
The Zimmer Cryo works much like a leaf blower and delivers freezing cold air (as low as -30ºC) to the treatment area through a flexible hose. Unlike other numbing solutions, like contact cooling, ice packs, numbing creams, and lidocaine injections, the Zimmer Cryo is noninvasive, fast acting, and delivers a constant dosage of pain alleviation throughout our entire treatment session. That’s right, the Zimmer Cryo can successfully numb the skin before, DURING, and after your laser session. Our Zimmer Cryo also features an attachable focusing tip for controlled skin numbing on areas like the face, knuckles, and on extra-small tattoos. Interested in the Zimmer Cryo’s numbing abilities? Call our Tyler office to schedule a free consultation and experience its effects today!
